FAQ ICON Advanced Fusion Surfaces

How does Caesarstone ICON differ from Caesarstone quartz or Mineral surfaces?
  • Caesarstone ICON advanced mineral surfaces are crystalline silica-free*. They contain ~80% recycled materials, which replace quartz as the main ingredient.
  • Attributes, performances, fabrication & installation, usage and warranty are the same as our quartz and Mineral surfaces.

*May contain traces of crystalline silica of up to 1%

How does Caesarstone ICON differ from Porcelain surfaces?

  • Caesarstone  ICON advanced mineral surfaces and Porcelain surfaces represent two distinct yet equally exceptional surface solutions, each offering unique advantages for different applications.
  • Caesarstone  ICON revolutionizes the engineered surface category with its groundbreaking, less than 1% crystalline silica composition and ~80% recycled content. It delivers exceptional durability, easier installation, and enhanced flexibility, making it ideal for kitchen countertops.
  • Porcelain surfaces excel with superior heat and scratch resistance, extremely low porosity, and UV resistance, allowing outdoor kitchen installation and versatile application possibilities from countertops to flooring and wall cladding.
  • This diversity in our portfolio enables architects,  designers, and customers to select the perfect surface solution for each unique application while maintaining the highest standards of quality and design that Caesarstone is known for.
Do Caesarstone ICON surfaces perform as well as quartz surfaces in all tests?

Yes, Caesarstone ICON surfaces deliver the same durability and resistance to scratches and heat as our quartz surfaces.

If Caesarstone ICON surfaces contain less than 1% crystalline silica, can I work without a mask or without wet tools?

No. The concentration of crystalline silica in the product does not impact or alter the required and recommended safety measures.

As with any stone product, it is essential to follow all safety protocols, including working with wet tools, wearing a protective mask, ensuring proper ventilation, and more. Detailed information on safety procedures can be found here in the Master of Stone  website.

What safety measures are needed for fabricating & installing Caesarstone  ICON surfaces?

Our new Caesarstone  ICON surfaces contain less than 1% crystalline silica yet must be handled by fabricators and installers with proper procedures and suitable personal protective equipment at all stages of fabrication and installation, as detailed in our comprehensive guidelines and safety recommendations, and in our ICON SDS in particular.

Are there any differences in the fabrication and installation methods of Caesarstone ICON surfaces compared to quartz or Mineral surfaces 40% / 20% crystalline silica?

No differences – same fabrication and installation process as the well-known Caesarstone quartz surfaces.

The workflow remains simple and efficient, already adopted by leading fabricators worldwide, delivering excellent results and high customer satisfaction.

Are the new Caesarstone ICON surfaces prone to more breakages or cracks during fabrication processes due to their new composition?

No, Caesarstone ICON surfaces have undergone rigorous fabrication tests and were developed according to Caesarstone highest fabrication standards yielding superb results and high levels of satisfaction by fabricators worldwide.

How can chips and cracks be repaired in Caesarstone ICON surfaces?

Caesarstone ICON surfaces are extremely strong and durable. Yet, chips or cracks can occur and need to be repaired with the same repair methods and adhesives as for Caesarstone quartz or Caesarstone Mineral surfaces.

Can the product be bent / thermoformed?

Yes. Caesarstone ICON surfaces, like Caesarstone quartz surfaces, can undergo a thermoforming process. By heating a flat surface, it can be shaped into a curved form.

More information and tips on the thermoforming process are available on the Master of Stone website.

Please notice that thermoforming is not covered by our warranty.
